Our Hallmarked Jewellery
Our hallmarked jewellery is hallmarked at the Company of Goldsmiths of Dublin Assay Office. This is known in the industry as the Dublin Assay Office.
Chōko is also officially registered with the Dublin Assay Office.
What is the Dublin Assay Office?
The Dublin Assay Office is the only hallmarking office in Ireland.
It hallmarks all Irish precious metal jewellery.
Which metals are precious metals?
For example gold, fine silver, sterling silver, gold plated sterling silver and platinum are precious metals.
Is hallmarking a legal requirement?
Yes.
Under Irish law all jewellery made with precious metals and sold in Ireland must be hallmarked.
So whenever you buy a piece of jewellery claiming to be made in one or more of these precious metals, make sure to look out for the correct jewellery hallmarks.
What does this all mean?
This means that all of our jewellery made in Gold, Fine Silver (.999), Sterling Silver (.925) and Gold Plated Sterling Silver (vermeil) is officially hallmarked by the Dublin Assay Office.
So you can trust and rest assured that our pieces contain the quality and amount of precious metal you expect.
